There are three kinds of manicures offered at most salons:

1) The basic manicure involves cleaning of the nails, a nail soak, cuticle treatments, and a polish change if one is requested.

2) French manicures are similar and are aimed at enhancing the natural appearance of one's nails (they are also known as "pink and white" manicures, as pictured in the image at the top of this page).

3) Paraffin treatments involve dipping the hands in paraffin wax to soften and moisturize the skin.
